Help with Hooded Merganser Mount
 

I have a newly mounted hooded merganser that my niece just grabbed the crest and frayed it out. Is there anything I can do to the "hair" to make it come back together in more of a mo-hawk form.

Please anyone thinking of hairspray but afraid it will make feathers look awful.
