got my 2011 deer mount back
 

here are the pictures that i took of my 2011 buck i just got the mount back yesterday. tell what you think of it. it looks like he did a good job to me. i am happy how it turned out. i for got to say that it is a full sneak looking left.

That is not very good taxidermy work at all. The ear butts are wrong, eyeshape is wrong. The inside of the nostril should be pinkish - looks dark to me. You should look for another taxidermist.

i paid 450 and smokey valley taxidermy did it for me. thanks for the reply's. the pictures where takin with my phone so there not to good. i think he did a really good job at it. and will continue to do business with me. he is doing a catfish for me right now.

i looked and inside of the nose is pinkish like i said the pictures was taken with my phone so they aren't the best

Did he bondo the ears or use earliners?

I knew from the title this was going to be bad, I have to agree with bucknut55, lip looks like it could be tucked more, eye shape,earbutts, doesnt look like the nostrils or ears are painted. I'd find a different taxi.

Nice buck, congrats. Bottom line is if you are happy with it, that is all that matters.

I will say that I personally don't feel like it is great work at all - BUT - the avg person has no idea how to tell if a mount is quality work or not. They think everything looks good unless its obviously horrid. Heck, some taxidermists don't know quality work. Once you learn what it looks like, its very easy to spot work that isn't.
