How much does an elephant head mount cost? curious... Nice work! I am not sure what my boss charged him totally for the mount, I work in the tanning part of the shop and only help occasionally with the taxidermy part. I do know for just the tanning of the cape, four feet and the tail was $4000. |

How and in what shape are they able to ship an elephant head hide from Africa to Idaho? Seems like you surely couldn't freeze it and just salting a hide that thick wouldn't work. How thin do you flesh the hide for mounting?
