How to darken antlers
I have used just good ol wood stain to darken my bleached deer and elk antlers and it works great! But on moose antlers in turns em into a yellowish color. Does anyone know somethin that would work better?
Thanks |
Sorry I can't help you with the moose antlers.
If you don't mind me asking though what exactly have you used on sun bleached elk antlers to restore the color on those? I have a 370 class set of antlers that I would love to restore and I would very much appreciate the info. |

my dad passed on his secret to me. we always use old english furniture polish. it works great. the color matches really well and it still leaves a little bit of the tips white like they are supposed to be.

I use Potassium Permanganate, you can buy it from Jonas Bros supply and Research Mannikins. It works great, it goes on purple and as it drys it will darken up use more if you want it darker.
