European mount skull - maceration additive
I was talking with a guy last weekend who told me he heard of an "additive" to place in the water when using the maceration approach to cleaning a european mount skull. The additive was some type of bug/insect that feeds off the material left on bone after scrapping. His just could not recall what they are called -- any ideas?

don't put the little beetles into the water
You don't add the beetles to the water. You put your animal head and a bunch of beetles into a large container with a lid. Then let the beetles eat. Check on them in a couple of days. They will eventually pick the bones clean.
