hair slippage on deer mount

I am not sure that hair slippage is the correct term here. I just want to know if it is normal for any hair at all to come off your deer mount. If I rub my hand over it a couple of hairs here and there will come out not a handful or anything (yet anyway). And every once in a while I will find a couple at the base below the mount. Is that normal? Or could I have bugs of some sort?

If it is a " Fresh" mount, that does happen sometimes, especially if the mount isn't completely dry yet.If you get beetles in the mount, you will notice alot of hair damage etc.

they could be broken hairs too. And some places where they shaved the skin very thin, dont take much for that to fall out either, I mean cut the hair butts from inside (THIN). I dont think you will have a pile of it on your floor though.:D

look on it and see if you see and real small dried larva shells, these will eat the hair right at the skin line and the hair will fall.I have mine sprayed to prevent this
