Is there a trick to cutting the antlers offat the right angle?

I just caped out a buck and am taking the plunge. This will be my first mount and I am wondering if there is a way to cut the antlers off so they will be close to fitting the form.
Tipped at the right angle.

I always measure from the tip of each antler to the tip of the nose, and from the antler burrs to the corners of the eyes. Cut the skull cap in the same general shape as the head slot on the form. Then you may have to shim the skull or move the skull cap forward or backward on the formto get the same measurement back.

I just cut em off at about 3 1/2in (from thebase of the antlers)on the front side at a 45 degree angle from the skull and the back I usually cut about 2 1/2in (from the base of the antlers) at the same angle. use lost of photos to get the correct angle of the antlers onto the form so it matches the bucks original head way.
