Default Caribou antler question

I just returned from Quebec with two nice caribou and I need some advice on antler prep.

(FYI.....I've mounted approx 175 whitetail, elk, bear, etc...but never a caribou)

The first caribou I shot was in velvet and I'm planning on using Research to apply their repro velvet, unless there is a better option. My bow kill caribou was out of velvet but the antlers are are very bloody.

If I want to mount this caribou without velvet.....do I need to get the blood out of the antlers and then stain them???

Yes, you need to get the blood out. There was an article about flushing the antlers in Breakthrough or Taxidemry Today. Congrats on the bou.
