Antler plaque mount question

Probably answered before but first time in this forum for me.
I have some antlers that are turning white. Do I need to put some type of clear coat on them? I do keep the plaques in the garage will this affect them?

No, you do not need to put anything on them. Also, being in the garage should not effect them as long as mice or any other vermin can't get to the antlers, as they will chew on them.

RE: Antler plaque mount question

The horns are fading in color which can happen overtime when exposed to the elements outside, or direct sunlight. If your looking to bring the brown color back to them. Many taxidermy supply companys offer a antler stain to bring back the color. But keep in mind, a little goes a long ways. Start lightly, the more you use the darker they come out.
