removing the horns

I'm currentlycleaning a steer skull and am almost finished except I can't figure out how to remove the horns to clean the flesh from there without damaging them. Any ideas?

Put the skull in a garbage bag tied closedfor a few days, and when it gets rotting pretty good, take it out and give them a good twist. they should come right off!

I like to put a little water in the bag to help with bacteria growth as well.
