Just got my 2006 Northern Pike Back, questions?
I just got my Pike back from the taxidermist. This guy has done all of my fish, 4 bass and 2 pike. The first 3 bass and first pike were great. The last bass and this pike were more than less unexceptable. [:'(] Both of the tails were in good condition but when I recieved them back, he had redone them. I wouldn't mind if he had redone them, but they weren't very good. I wouldn't complain, but for the price I pay they should be top notch. What would you guys do?
The redone part is the top right, and is very noticable. The bottom right is another bass mount tail, it looiks kinda funny, they are just close.

I'm going to guess that you froze the fish whole in your freezer before taking it to the taxi.
Whether it happened in your freezer or his, I'd guess that the tail bumped something and broke. The taxi probably tried to rebuild that part of the tail.
If this were the case, you have two choices, mount it with part of the tail missing or rebuild it best you can.
Doesn't look all that bad to me.

Yes, I took the fish to the taxi immediatly, and he wasn't very careful putting it into the freezer. I was kinda worried about it. I am guessing that is exactly what happened. Nothing I can really do about it now.
