RE: is it easy to mount a duck??

Several years ago I tinkered around a bit with taxidermy. I actually completed a wood duck drake, Green-wing drake and a fox squirrel. To answer your question, NO. BUT, if you have all the right tools, equipment, ref. pics, paint, preservatives, fleshers, tumblers, etc, and most of all the knowledge, then it's easy. I learned very quickly the difference in a bad mount and good mount. Trust me, if your mount comes back from the taxi-man and it looks like a wood duck is supposed to look, then your money was well spent. If you're willing to sacrifice your wood duck anddon't care ifit is "possibly" ruined, then try it yourself, besides that's the only way you'll ever learn. I enjoyed doing the little bit that I did, but then I got married..........I haven't gotten back into it YET.
