Am not aware of any in SC but in North Carolina;

Surry Community College
630 South Main Street, Dobson, NC 27017 -- (336) 386-3244
This one year hands-on program covers one of the four major topics of deer and other game heads, fish, birds, and life-size mounts each quarter. These courses are appropriate for anyone interested in learning the art of taxidermy or for those wanting to improve their techniques. Included throughout each topic is instruction on habitat, casting, operating a taxidermy business, state and federal game laws, how to make specialized tools, and much more. Students can enter at any quarter and can choose between evening or Saturday classes. The college is also the new home of the "Taxidermy Mini-Course" previously held at Piedmont Community College for the past 31 years. Click here to visit our website or Email us at [email protected].

Try going to www.taxidermy.net at the top pf the page is a link to Schools. Also join your state association and they will be able to maybe get you into a shop to learn. SC has a great association.

They're in Columbus GA. I know it's a good ways away, but might be worth a look. I've gone to two weekend classes, and loved it both times. Most of the schools I've seen have long classes, Ken can usually work it out so that you don't have to be away from home long, and he's got a place for you to stay so that won't cost youa bunch of extra money. Their website is great, give it a look.
