I have a crow in the freezer that I've been thinking about getting mounted for a while now. Thought I might give it a go myself. I ordered a taxidermy kit which should be here soon.

Any tips?

Best tip I can give ya is not to get discouraged if your first attempt isn't the greatest. I'm sure that you can mount it but I see a lot of beginners get discouraged. Make sure you watch a video or 2 to get the basics. I fyou can mount that crow you can mount any bird. Good Luck

watch out, crows are illegal to have I do believe. (Stupid law, I know...It something with the Feds...not sure though) Try your first mount with a pheasant...they are a lot easier to mount, and are popular birds,and can be readily bought from a game farm.

piebald...why are they illegal to mount?? i know their seasons are set by the federal guys..but if we can kill em why cant we mount them?? just curious..never heard of such a thing..though im not doubting it..they come up with some nutty stuff once in a while

nevermind, they are illegal to sell. you can keep them but you cant sell them.
