Taxidermy...is it hard?

I was wanting to start my own lil taxidermy thing...you know for my own animals and maybe other peoples mounts...to cut down on the costs and maybe make a lil money off of it ya know...i was just wondering if it is terribly difficult to do and whats needed to do the mounts.\

Thanks.

It just takes lots of practiceand good reference. If you do it over and over it will come to you, I am my worst critic. Go to http://wwwtaxidermy.net and you will find a ton of info and answers to any questions you may have, use the search button.
Thanks

RE: Taxidermy...is it hard?

Dropper - I take it that you're from NC. There are at least 3 community colleges that offer taxidermy classes. If you're serious about it, and I mean serious, let me know. Do you have any artistic ability? Taxidermy isn't as easy as some things but if you really want to learn, there are a few things that I'd recommend... First, where are you located? Do you live near Montgomery, Yadkinville, Dobson, Archdale, Troy? There are CCs there. Second, if you're really serious join the NC Taxidermist Association. It's a great organization that is there to help each other.Best money I ever spent. Third - You have to decide if it's really what you want. Do you want to work another 20 hrs a week, how about 40. I put in a lot of extra hours every week just doing taxidermy. Hope it helps

Yes, very hard...damn near impossible.
Don't even attempt it!
Leave it to the talented few.
(I'm just kidding you)
