A question
I have a few questions for some of the taxidermists that are on here. I just found a nice set of mule deer sheds that I would like to put on a reproduction skull. Has anyone had any experience with these? I was looking at getting the one out of Mckenzie. What should I use to attatch theantlers to the pedicles? Also the antlers were either last years or the year before sheds so they are extremely bleached. There are also some cracks that I will be filling in with apoxie sculpt. What is the best stain to use to get the antlers to a realistic color? I appreciate anyones feedback. Thank-you.

RE: A question
McKenzie also has the base for attatching the horns to anything else, a base, a mount, a horn mount etc they also have the stains you will need.

RE: A question
Rich is right. There are better ways of filling the cracks but they are time consuming and somewhat expensive but you also get better quality. McKenzies also sells a full skull that you just mount the horns to , via drilling into the horns and epoxying a rod into, then doing the same to the skull. A little sculpt aroung the base of the dorns and your good to go.
