hen turkey mounts

The new Cally Morris hen decoys 400 bucks why so much ? They sure seem to work well on video...
Can you shoot a legal hen in the fall & have it mounted by any good taxidermist?

Depending on the state. In NC it has to be a "bearded bird". Well, they say that 15% of hens have beards. So it is legal here, but may no tbe in your state. CHeck your game laws

If it is legal to kill a hen in the fall yeah. Thats what I'm thinking about doing. Only problem is, I dont think you can find a taxidermist that will mount aturkey, even a hen, for less than $400. Around here a turkey mount runs around $450-$500. I'm gonna try to do it myself. Doesn't have to look GREAT to be a decoy.
