Antler Repair

What do you guys use to fix antlers? I was looking in Van-dykes and all they had was just a kit, I was wondering if you guys use anything other than that. There is a few sets of horns I want to fix, and possibly make a rack. Also what do you all use to color the antlers? What are your tips and techniques to fixing, staining, and any other useful information. Thanks all.

All Those questions are hard to answer by simple typing, it is best you obtain a video on this subject and first have some sculpturing ability.

RE: Antler Repair

To fix a point, find a stiff piece of wire, drill a hole into the broken point. Squirt some hotmelt glue into the hole and stick the wire in. After cooling, bend the wire into the shape you want the point to be. Use some epoxy sculpting compound and coat the wire and make the point. Sand it and stain. As far as making a whole rack...WHY? That is just a bit too ambitious if you ask me.
