12GA Slug Hole in Fox or Yote - Ruined ?
 

Sometimes while deer hunting with my 12ga I see a fox and coyotes rummaging around. I'd like to blast one but I'd like to get something done with the hide.
Would the slug totally ruin it if I wanted to do some kind of full mount or rug ?

depends on the angle of the shot.if it were me,I would want a chest shot on the yote.there are longer hairon there chestand the hole can be covered.
a fox, most likely would be blown away.

good luck ; hope you get one. I want to get me a yote for a throw in the sun room.

Thanks Tree Climber, that's what I was guessing. Since I can't carry a centerfile rifle during deer season here in NY and carrying buckshot is either illegal or impractical to swap loads quickly enough, I may carry my .357. I'd think that hole would be small enough to cover up.
