deer hides

hey guys i'm in the process in tanning my first deer hide, my question is how do you guys display the hides? any ideas or tips to displaying my first hide would be great, i was thinking about maybe mounting it to a plaque that i would cut 1 inch longer than the countour or the skin maybe using a router to round the edges of teh would and then maybe stain it. whaty are somethings you guys have done, post pics if you got them.

My family is making kinda of a wall decoration thing from my first deer we tanned it and kept the fir on and were making a square from branches and then use the leather lace and put the hie in the middle of that. kinda like the whole hide stretching things native americans did it looks like its gonna be pretty cool. Good luck with what ever you decide to do.

I usually take a pice of Plywood and cut it to the shape of the hide and then stretch it over the plywood and folding it behind the plywood and the staple it, leaving the tail to hang loose.

Then I take deer feet and create a gund rack or hat rack using the feet and the skin as the background for the gun rack
