Maintenence on mounted deer

I know it proabably has been discussed before but what do you use to maintain mounts? I have heard Liquid Gold, is this true before I end up doing damage. The oldest mount was done in 1978.

I tell my customers to use preventive maintenance...feather dusting it often, NO treatments or anything on the hair or antlers. Thats my opinion. Alex mentioned a good product, which he will tell you is best after the mount already is cruddy. Its a shame for mounts to get neglected as they dont always respond to treatment. I hope yours are in decent shape still. Good luck.

Well, the product arrived today and I used it. Wasn't overly impressed and it stinks like all get out. But in all fairness it says to wait a couple days and fluff it out. Now how do you fluff a deer mount[&:]. We will see.
