If I'm not mistaken, these state qualifiers, just allow you to be eligible for the ASA Classic. Not completely sure though. I know they make you eligible for the Classic though.

CLASSIC CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFYING:
A. Professionals: Participate in three Pro/Am events, or win one Pro/Am event.
B. Semi-Pros and Amateurs: Participate in two Pro/Am events, win one Pro/Am event, or compete in their
respective ASA Federation State Championship.
C. ASA reserves the right to extend "at-large" invitations in all classes to shooters who are deemed worthy of
competing, but who may have been prevented from regular qualifying due to special circumstances.
qualifier gets you into the state championship. In order to shoot the classic

Aboveis how you are eligable to shoot the classic. To shoot you state championship, you have to shoot one of the asa qualifiers, and do well. If you go to the asa web site and click on the top gun tab at the top, it takes you to the asa federation tour rules of competition and it explains everything there. Hope some of this helps.

chase, I would but I've promised to take my boy to a more "fun" shoot closer to us at Ste. Genevieve, MO on Saturday morning... they've got 40 new Rhineharts, with some really cool things he'll have a blast shooting: a baboon, a carp, a huge cobra -- and the one he can't wait to shoot: the stegasaurus!! ;)

Sunday's all taken up with a tactical handgun course I registered for a while back... maybe I'll catch another one some day. If the state championship is going to be held in Northern Illinois, it won't matter anyway as I won't drive that far for it... so that's why I was asking.
