I'll try to pick out 10 yds....then go with the flow by adding another 10 until I find the correct distance

there are a couple of ways i judge 5 yards its about the width of a parking stall at wally world or food lion and second way is i just know how far i will go in 5 steps.
at any rate its not something that will come to you unless you do it all the time.I catch myself judging distances in stores, parking lots just anywhere i happen to be at the time. its kind of automatic for me to do it. and where yu need to be is catching youself doing it that means you were doing it and not realizing it that is when you can be very accurate.

I usually pick out 10 yardand 20 yard increments and then average the two.

I'll startfrom 20 yards andadd in 10 yard incrementsuntil I get to my target. If I have to judge longer distances, I'll use my first method combined with this method; I'll guess half of the distance to the targetand multiply that by 2. This may be the wrong way to do it, but it works well for me. :D

Heck,I used to use 5 yard increments,10 yard increments,halfway and target judging.I would also judge to the target and back from the target.Usually whatever was working best for me that day was what I went with.

When I was doing THE BEST,the target told me everything I needed to know.;)This is why most pros have a full set of targets of their own. (maybe I should say 1 reason)
