VA State ASA Qualifier - (**Updated**)

Shot this tournament today with some friends from the area. I got to meet one of the Bowtech Shooting staff guys that ISN'T a member of HNI.....and we had a great time shooting.

Tough course.....with everything encompassed (uphill, downhill, sidehill, open targets with nothing but grass between you and the target, small targets, big targets, multiple targets).

Good shoot (25 targets). I think one of our guys shot 6 down. Another shot 8 down. I shot 9 down and the rest were 22 down or worse.

Here's a few images of the shoot.

Looks fun but one thing I don't understand. Back in the day..LOL, all courses where either 30 or 40 targets. When I started it was always 40 targets, through the years they went to 30 targets but I've never heard of a qualifier down to 25 targets. That seems wrong. Isn't there a standard. When scores are posted people will assume a perfect round 250 was 50 down!

Nice pics Jeff. What's the cats name on the shooting staff? (Of course there are many) Did you convince him to join HNI...LOL Sounds like you qualified with that score pending numbers shot.

I won't know about the scores for a few days at best, Rob.....but it was the most challenging course I've ever shot. Everything anyone could want.;)

Sorry ROb....the Team Bowtech Shooter's name is James Crooks (NC).

I was actually tempted to go for a couple 14 rings close to the end.....thinking I needed to to maybe qualify. As it turns out.....I kept with my gameplan and kept tryig to make solid 10's.

I got word this morning that I won my class. I made the right decision.:)

Which one of the classes did you shoot?

I have never shot an ASA... (none around here) but I do know they have a ton of different classes.
