Swap Hunt Gone Bad? Please respone

What would you do if you done a swap hunt and the hunter comes to hunt you show him/her pictures of the deer to kill an not to kill and he/she kills one of your two year old buck that is on the no kill list. The answer I was told was I have had a bad season and got in a hurry. Why do you even draw back on a no kill buck. What do you do or say please answer with a respone.

It would be poor manners to shoot a deer that your host told you he prefer you not shoot....that said, I am sick of hearing of these "List" , the outdoor shows that first came up with this I think have really did a disservice to hunting. Whatever happened to letting the "hunter" decide what is a trophy to him. Experiences in the outdoors can't be soley judged by points or mass, in my opinion.

You nailed it.

I'm not a big fan of someone else deciding what I can or
can not shoot either---but, when you hunt on someone
else's land and they have specifically asked you not to
shoot certain deer---I would call it the worst sort of
sportsman that goes ahead and shoots the deer. When
you play in someone's backyard you play by their rules.

I would not talk to or associate with that person again.

The rack and mass wasnt the issue for me. We try to manage our deer by the age. We try to let our deer reach there prime age and then haverst them. Thanks for the for the comments so far.

Why get mad you took the risk of somebody you don't know hunting on your property and having no clue what kind of hunter he is. It was a risk that didn't work out how you wanted. If you do it again have the person sign a contract with a penalty fee if they shoot the wrong deer. Now go do your side of the agreement and never contact him again. When you swap a hunt your just rolling the dice never know what your truly going to get until the hunt actually happens.

Not being rude but I did my part by him comin up too hunt. I guess know he has to hold up his end and I go hunt there but really after that I could careless to go hunt with him. But you are right lesson learned.

That is a tough one. I've often considered doing hunt swaps here in Aus but I'm under the same theoretical dilemma.
In the end I've decided if I'm going to do it and there are animals in a certain place I don't want harvested I just wouldn't take them there. There are always plenty of other places to take people. That being said if its a hunt swap and he's giving you something and you're giving him something it's really a unofficial business transaction and what's a young buck to some may seem as a trophy to another. If the guy shot the buck and is genuinely happy then what's it matter if its two or ten?

In the future, On managed land I would suggest not letting a hunter you do not know hunt without a "guide" in attendance.
I agree with the responses, just poor manners

Hmm thats a tuffy. My first thought was why wasn't someone with him. Second what were the circumstances with the hunt. As in was it last light, early morning, runnning. Some people either can't judge racks on the hoof, or they get excited and don't think things through. I've done it myself growing up. You get excited shoot then think things through and realize maybe I shouldn't have shot. I'm gonna have to take the hunters side on this unless u tell me the deer was standing broadside at 50 yds and he knew what deer was in front of him.
