Swap Hunt Question

I am not sure were to post this question, but hopefully you guys can help. I am very interested in the swap hunts posted on this site, I live in Wyoming and am interested in swaping big game hunts for hunts in other areas. My concern is is this legal in all states, I know here in Wyoming the outfiters association is very powerful, would providing a semi guided hunt on public land to someone in return for a hunt somewhere else be illegal?

RE: Swap Hunt Question

the law here in arkansas says if money is exchanged, then you need a guide license. no reason two friends can't hunt together, though.

RE: Swap Hunt Question

In VA there are no guide laws, you DO NOT need a guide license. I've been guiding rabbit hunters for years. This is probably due to the low demand for guides in VA though.

RE: Swap Hunt Question

Send an email to your game and fish and ask them, then save/print a copy of their replyif it is legal for future if someone questions it.

Bottom line is that there is nothing that would stand up in court if you "meet" someone, develop a friendship, and then ask them to come hunting, no matter what the law says.
