STILL LIKING BRITTS!

Went bird hunting again today...6 quail the little Britt did just fine 6 birds killed, 6 birds brought back. Last 2 she just dropped as soon as I put my hand out. The friend I was hunting with liked her so much he bought her sister, same price $150.00 I like these britts. The owner of the place says Shorthairs are pretty good dogs too.
Thanks guys for your help with the train book info. went right out and got it cool book!!

I hear ya Bro. Sounds like you've got yourself a dandy. All ever owned were Brits for years. They don't have the staying power though sometimes in the mild East Georgia winters. My cousins hunt English Pointers which do well in our climate. But I don't want a dog I have to retrain every year.
I'm a died in the wool Shorthair man now.

Always had GSP but did have a little Britt for about 3 years. She was a cool dog. Got into some anti freez.

Shorthair..seems a lot of folks like the gsp whats some of their pro's. I know the owner of the place we hunt really likes them, and he sees alot of dogs come through his place. But then again he raise's britts too.

RE: STILL LIKING BRITTS!

In short (pardon the pun) you have the endurance of an English Pointer combined with the demeanor of a Brittany. I grew up hunting with my cousins English Pointers. Pointers are hard working dogs but very hard headed. My first two bird dogs were Brittanys because of this. I found the Brittany to be eager to please and easy to train. The best thing is they hunt close. The downside here in GA is the mild winters. The Brittany wears out to quick because of the long coat.
The GSP gives me the best of both. They are eager to please, they hunt close and have the endurance of a Pointer even with the mild winter( it's going to reach 70 here today).
