OUR PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU BUCK BOY. I CAN ONLY IMAGINE IF ONE OR BOTH OF MY BRITTANY'S WOULD TAKE OFF.
WHEN YOU GET HIM BACK TAKE HIM TO THE VET OR WHEREEVER AND HAVE AN IDENTITY CHIP PUT UNDER HIS SKIN. THAT WAY IF HE IS PICKED UP THEY CAN SCAN THE CHIP AND YOU'LL GET HIM BACK.
KEEP US INFORMED.

Yep! We got him back! Someone found him roaming around in their yard and luckily the person was real nice and took him into their home. They called an animal shelter to tell them she had found a GSP. Then my mom called and the lady said " You wont believe this, someone just called five minutes ago saying they had found a GSP but the lady didn't leave her number with the shelter." Anyways there was another man that lived in the same area as the lady who found our dog and he had lost his GSP too. But he checked and it wasn't his. so the shelter found this out and gave us a call saying they think they have our dog. Thank you for all your prayers cause now he's home safely.

Buck Boy,

If you lose your dog again, especially out in the field, merely leave a clothing garment of yours at or near the sight you last saw the dog. It will smell your garment sooner or later and will be close by it when you return. Remember, a dog's nose is it's #1 sense.
I'm happy to hear you got your dog back!

Buck Boy, it must have been a day for the Shorthairs to run off. Mine also went for a run by himself. We looked for and called him for a good 5 hours. We live in front of 1400 wooded acres and he was spotted a few times, but he was so spooked he wouldn't come to any of us. We could hear the choke chain rattleing his tags and watch the birds fly away but he wouldn't come to any of us. We finally gave up with no other choice 'cause it was way after dark by then. He finally came back on his own and he acted like he was mighty glad to be back! We were so glad to see him back it was hard to tell him how bad he had been. We are equally glad you found your dog. It is a very sad feeling to know he's gone.
