RE: Books VS DVDs?

It depends. If you're having a hard time with certain training aspects, it's nice to be able to see it. However, you are going to get WAY more information out of a well written book than you are out of a tape or dvd.

No matter which way you go, get on a program of "progression" training, where everything the dog is about to learn is based on what it has already learned. That's what I like best about the Smartwork books.

RE: Books VS DVDs?

For some people it is easier to learn by watching, and listening to some one else than by reading. I've never tried to teach a dog anything by watching it on the screen first but I have learned some things by watching friends working with their dogs so I would be willing to say that the DVD's are worth a try. I would still buy a couple of books because you because the more you educate yourself before you actually start training the better your training program will move along.
