A hug and a prayer
 

I just read a post on another board from someone that had to put their dog down due to illness. Fortanatly I opened it at home and not at work, because it reduced me to tears. I have not lost a dog in over 15 years, and it took me almost all that time to want another pet. Now my pup is the light of my life. We have no children so pup has become our child. We enjoy training and hunting with him, and just hanging out. Pup goes everywhere I go, and I would not have it any other way. We all get our pets, and give them all our love, and they become such a big part of our lives knowing that someday our time together will come to an end. We hate to think about these things, but alas they are a fact of life. Give your pup a hug tonight, maybe an extra treat, and say a quiet prayer for all those friends that have been on ahead of us.

It's tough when we lose our four-legged friends. Good reminder Bill, I think I'll rub my little buddy's ears and give me a treat now.

I know the pain of losing a close pet and will give my dogs an extra hug tonight. I hate thinking about the negative facts of life but always do anyway too.
