Wirehaired Pointing Griffon

Anyone have info on Wirehaired Pointing Griffons-understand they are fairly rare in this country. Can they retrieve ducks and geese in cold water? Do their coats attract burrs and the like when hunting upland game birds? How easy or hard are they to train?

I have hunted over a few. Yes, they will retrieve out of water. They are listed on the NAVHDA page so they will do pretty much anything you need it for. The coat is really coarse (hints the name) and can tend to attract burrs. From the looks of it, they are easier to train than most, but a few may be stubborn, especially males.
