Well, Do yo have any good tips on how to keep her from being gunshy? She doesn't mind a .22, but I don't want to push my luck. In fact, she gets really excited when i take the .22 out. What do you recommend doing to build her up to a shotgun?

fire off the gun when the dog is off doing something ,then slowly decrease the distance untill the dog is at what ever distance you like (mine stand beside me), if the dog shows some sensitivity carry on as if nothing happened dont grab the dog and coddle it ,carry on with the thought that it gets sensitive at X feet lets work at that distance and in time it will work out but the dog should be busy doing something every time you fire when your conditioning it for this.

I went from banging pots and pans, slamming doors and whatelse when still in the litter to starters pistols then to 12 gauge(always done at a distance while dog busy then shorter distance)
