had to put my 12 year old yellow lab down last week. he had hip dysplasia real bad. couldn't go up and down step anymore. wimpered when he would lay down. couldn't stand to see him suffer. sure miss him a lot.

You have my sympathy. It is hard to lose a 4 legged companion, I have lost far too many in my life. I really wish dogs out lived humans. I know you don;t want to hear it now, I didn't 2 years ago when I lost my setter, but a puppy will make your world brighter.

So sorry to hear of your loss. It is always tough to part with a pet but being a responsible owner means to put the pet's comfort ahead of our feelings.

ive had quite a few over the years as I'm in my 60's. most were not house dogs. only ones that were kept in the house were a cocker spaniel and the lab. both were put down by the vet. both dogs were 12 years old. was like losing one of the family.

its a hard pill to swallow when having to put one down and the loss of there companionship is always felt as well as missed

I think its one thing a NON dog owner will never experience or understand!

remember the good times, I am sure they out number any bad!
