is the latest you can start training these dogs. Me and my girlfriend got a mut last year (about a year and a few months old now) and I want to start bringing her out with me next year (this will be my first year out so I dont wanna bring her yet) Shes a Shepherd/Hound mix and is extremely smart and athletic. Just wondering whats the latest you can start training dogs to be sporters.

Anytime over 6 months or so. It depends upon the trainer but most professionals want baby teeth gone before they will accept a dog. That is what I consider 'formal' training using pressure. Anything before that is play & fun time. Just remember to condition the dog to gunfire before trying to take them hunting or you'll end up with a gun shy dog.
