Hey guys, I was just wondering if you needed any special shots other than the regular shots the vet gives to dogs to control pests. Any info will be greatly appreciated!

It doesnt prevent Lyme Disease but thats not the reason why you shouldnt give your dog the shot. The reason you shouldnt is because of the side effects which vary from rheumatoid arthritis and all the major symptoms of lyme disease to acute kidney failure. Pike

Reportedly and I need to check with my Vet there is a Lymes Vaccination now that is guaranteed.

It is not the vaccination we have access to in the past and is new.

My 8 year old Springer always tests positive to the Lyme antibodies. He must have been exposed to it as a pup.
The first year we gave him the necessary shots to help prevent any symptoms. Since then we have never had him take the shots and he has always been symptom free.

He is on a strict K9 Advantix regiment, due to the amount of fleas and ticks in our area. Only one time he did have fleas from a family member's dog but K9 Advantix quickly took care of business.
