Thumbs up Second Field Trial, first points !!

Katy took the Amateur Puppy stake last weekend at the Nutmeg GSP Club's Field Trial held in East Windsor, CT to earn her first two points towards her Field Championship.

Her run was highlighted by a stop to flush only 4 minutes after the breakaway, a turn on a dime from a single whistle blast while 250+ yards out & a point that she held through a simulated shot then allowed me to walk over, heel her away and send her on. Katy put down a good forward race and handled incredibly well- I dare say flawless for an 11 month old pup.

Thumbs up

Katy took a 3rd running with the "teenagers" yesterday in Amateur Derby at the CNEBC trial in East Windsor, CT. She handled great- had a back (which she held steady to the shot and let the other handler walk past her as I was 20 yards behind) and had a real stylish find that she held steady to shot. I didn't see the run for the dog who won (a Brit), but the second place dog (another Brit) was Katy's bracemate and both her & Katy were to the front the whole time they were down. Katy finished a bit stronger imho- hunting further to the front. That said, I'm still happy that the judges decided to use Katy in her first foray in Derby stakes.
