Best time to sell puppies?
 

When is the best time to sell pups? My German Shorthair bitch is currently in heat. Although we are not going to have pups this time around, we are looking to have pups within her next two cycles. I am concerned about hunting her next fall after she has been inseminated, is this a problem? Any advice welcome!!

I have raised beagles to run deer with for 35 years.
I always tried to breed my bitch after the 1st of the year.that way the pups will be old enough to train for the coming season.
the bitch will have all the off season to recoop from the birth.

most hunters I know want as much time to train there pups before the season opens.
as for hunting her,most of the season will be gone before she is to far along.

I agree with Tree climber. You should wait till the off season so the full attention can be on the pups and your bitch will have time to recoup.
