Trailing Dogs

I have been raising training and breeding Pembroke Welsh Corgis for quite sometime now and am also a deer hunter. A couple of years ago I took my male corgi with me hunting. A friend shot a deer and the corgi actually trailed and found the deer after it traveled about 1/2 a mile. I was just wondering what luck others have had with certain breeds and trailing instincts. I have actually used some of his pups for the same purpose and they all pick up naturally to scents. I think it works out great for a multipurpose breed because they are so compact that they are family friendly as well as hunter friendly. :o

I would love to hear some good tracking stories. Below is a picture of him with his first found deer. I can't wait to get him out there this year!
