Anyone know a good and affordible trainer in the illinois are preferabely the north/central areas. i just dont ahve much time to train my dog and i want to do the right thing to get her trained to the most of ehr abilities.

There are lots of trainers that are good in that area. I can help you if you are looking for a birddog trainer (you have a Setter or a Pointer).

If you need someone for a retriever or a Continental breed, someone else should be able to help.

i have a lab, but shes a pointing lab, but i would like waterfowl and upland.

I' m real sorry that I can' t help you with retriever trainers. I only know a thing or two about birddogs, and am pretty ignorant when it comes to most other subjects. ;)

get a copy of gun dog or pointing dog journal magazines. there are many trainers and breeders from all over the country in the back. you might try gundog.com also. go to lioncountrysupply.com for some good videos to do it yourself. you could try looking on ricksmithkennels.com, to see if one of his seminars is coming to your area. he trains you to train your dog, its a 3 day seminar (you take your dog for 2 days) i am going to order his video, but i would love to take one of his seminars.
