any opinions on pheseant and duck dogs?
 
iv been lookin for hunting webs to see if anyone was sellin or had opinions on what kind of dog to get for pheseant and duck hunting but no oneknew of any so i just came here to see if anyone had any information or opinions on what agood dog would be for this hunting pretty much goodfor bird hunting cuz im bout to get my hunter safety license.....

Where do you live at and what will you do more of. If it is going to be more upland, and little bit of Duck, look into the German Shorthairs (GSP) or German Wirehaired pointers (GWP) some of that might depend on if you live somewhere cold as hell too. If you live in a cold climate, and will do more duck, then maybe look into a lab, or a pointing lab. Good luck to you.

a pointing lab would work great. i have to regular labs, i do more duck hunting but my dogs hunt pheasant as well. the only thing is that dont point just flush. good luck
