RE: Never got the chance...
ORIGINAL: EODLT ORIGINAL: sproulman there are not many dogs that can hunt birds, rabbits, squirreals, fox, coyotes ,then run into cold pond, river or wet deep swamp with mud etc. i noticed those LONG LEGS AND SKINNY WAIST on your dog. you got the lab i like ,not those big heavy blocky head labs 80/100 pds, they just cant handle field work as well as the small ones. I have always liked the compact models better. Better runners, better swimmers, more stamina. My heaviest lab ever is that ol' boy you see there, hes 72 lbs. Long legged, but solid built. this is where i would get bigger dog if ducks was only thing we hunted. bigger lab dogs cant take HEAT and have heck of time with brush/briars. any lab with LONG REAR LEGS that is under 80 pds on male is fine for ALL AROUND LAB,just from what i am seeing folks,my opinion from seeing labs in wooids, fields and at trails yearly. here is breeder that did raised the 2 sizes of labs. www.wetland-retrievers.com if you look at black lab with pheasant in his mouth, that is brother to mine. mother is the FAUSTINA .if he breeds her again, i would rec getting pup from her litter. also here is preserve that you can go and see dogs work yearly. www.warriorsmark.com i have no interest in promoting these 2 breeders ,only trying to help steer someone that is interested in seeing dogs work or getting puppy.you would not believe calls i get of people that cant even find a puppy they want, its hard if its your first time, not knowing what to do or where to go. this is why i think all of us are big help to puppy buyers.ll puppies and warriors sells 7 different breeds of puppies. they are also highly rec by LION COUNTRY SUPPLY,which is great dog supply store and only 20 minutes from their store. |
