Recommended Training Book/Video

Alright, so I just got a lab pup yesterday and I am interested in training it for dove hunting, etc. The catch is that this would be my first dog-training experience. And I have no idea what to do, expect, etc. So, I am interested in doing some background reading and getting some decent training videos or manuals. And just from reading this forum, it seems that there are plenty of diverse opinions and techniques. Does anyone have a favorite book/videothat they would recommend?

Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanksguys.

1. Video- Jackie Mertens- Sound Beginnings, for the early training in the first six months.
2. Book- Mike Lardy's- Vol 1, training manuel.

You cant go wrong with "Game Dog" by Richard Wolters. I followed the steps in there and my dog was retrieving birds to hand at 7 months
