You have to watch him a lot. And if you take him outside and he doesnt use the bathroom then when you go back inside place him in the crate. When you let him out immediately take him outside. Also try to encourage him to go right when you go outside and then have some play time afterward so that he knows he is rewarded after using the bathroom outside. If you take him inside right after he uses the restroom he might try to wait as long as he can to go while he's outside so he can spend more time outdoors. Good luck

If he pees or poops in the house stick his nose in it and quick (but you must do it right after he does it, you need to see him do it and scold him, then stick his nose in it) and take him out side imediatly to his bathroom area. He prolly wont got then but he willfigure it out soon enough.Clean it so he can't smell it in the house anymore... Take him to the same spot to go everytime and if you have some of his poop around pick it up and put itinthespot you want him to go so he smells its his. Then take him there everytime you take him to go and like said before praise him and play with him after doin his duty right... We have all our dogs go in the woods. WCL

you said it all..i used to see my lab start to sniff or make circle, i would grab him, turn him upside dow n and say OUTSIDE, OUTSIDE..

DID THIS ABOUT 2 WEEKS, NOW HE STARES AT ME, I SAY outside AND HE RUNS FOR DOOR..

many times at 2 am i was outside the first 4 weeks after age 7 weeks to pee or poo at 10 above zero..i stood out there for 30 minutes until he did his thing..

There's really nothing more to say. Take him out every 3-4hrs. If you can't handle it then I suggest you let the dog stay outside or put the pup into a place with hard flooring like a laundry room and gate it off with a baby gate.

One thing that i just found out today about my lab puppy was that he went to the bathroom 4 times in a half hour! He dribbled three times in the house before i could grab him and bring him outside.

DO NOT STICK HIS NOSE IN IT!!!!!!!!!!!! If you do then all he will smell is his poop and pee. He will smell it everywhere and he can not associate the smell of his poop and pee with the place he is supposed to go. Every where he goes will smell like the place he is supposed to go. You do need to get him on a schedule, you should also take him to the same place every time and you should give him a one or two word command when you get him there. The most important thing, however, is to lavish him with praise when he does do it right. One more thing is that once he understands what "GO PEE" or "GO POO" or whatever command you decide to use means, you need to keep praising him for doing what is expected through out his adult life. My current dog uses an area of about 6 x 6 foot in my back yard as his spot to go. he hasn't gone anywhere else but that spot in 4 years, except if we aren't at home of course. I firmly believe that he uses this area and no other because it is the only spot he has ever been directed to for the purpose of releiving himself and the only spot where he gets praised when he does go. Good Luck and remember patience and consistency are the two things you need the most of while you train your new pup.

The only thing I would add is don't get frustrated. 11 weeks is still very young. You will have more accidents. Consistency is the key. It probably won't be the same with you, but a friend of mine's pup wasn't house nor KENNEL clean until 9 months old. Not a happy camper.

Good luck,
