Deerhounds the Ultimate.
I hunted with a man that used four Deerhounds. I have seen them turn whitetail back towards us right off the bat. No jumping in the truck to ride down the road and no 2 mile chases.
Jumping in the truck? To each his own but I've never hunted like that before. We line men up at a choke point and one or two guys will work the dogs towards us.
You got a good looking dog there. :)
Never needed ambush points either. You just can not compare the speed of a True Deerhound to any other "hound".
I don'tlike the jump in truck method either, but you know it is/was not rare.
