I left something out . Bloodhounds do not track people like a police dog (e.g shepherd) will. If there is a breeze, the scent will fall to the side of the person's actual footprints. The dog may walk a few feet to the side of the actual path the person took, but this is what they are supposed to do. This is why they are usually known as trailing rather than tracking dogs. Their job is to find someone ASAP, whereas a police dog is trying to find evidence on the way.

My Irish use the ground and air both when hunting for birds here.I know alot of folks out there feel the Irish is stupid thanks to the show people. Not these ones though and the size is different as well 35lbs for my female and 65lbs for my male. I posted a stylish pic of him earlier and want to post both together but it is to cold out right now and harder to locate grouse for good points. So here they are together at home.

This one hereI know you have seen pointing but here is a trick my son got him to do. As these are great with the kids and learn easily soI hope some will understand that there is still some smart ones around and I hope these pics did not bore you. This is very difficult for any large chest dog to do.
