missing dog

As you can tell by the name i'm in the Marine Corps, i got a call from my mom last night saying that my rat terrier was missing. She is over ten years old and has never been gone for more than one night(it's been 3 nights). Now my question is: Is it true that dogs will wander off to die alone rather than around there owners, i know her health was getting worse each day and it is highly probably that she did die but was just wondering what you all think. thanks

RE: missing dog

Ten years is not that old for a small breed of dog verses a larger
breed. All of my dogs have died at home so I can not say in your
case. But it is possible that your dog was running something and
had a heart attack so never made it back. Or some passerby liked
it and picked it up if no one is around. Or for that matter a number
of things could of happened to your dog.

That breaks my heart. I've held two dogs when I had to put them down and it's the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. I hate to see dogs wonder the roads, streets etc...

The other day I saw a Jack Russell that was hit...they don't deserve that. Perhaps someone has picked her up waiting to find her owners.

Sorry to hear this!
There's this option but the quicker you move on it the better chance you'd have.
