What a waste
 

I saw an english setter today that had some wheels on her. What a waste. The lady who owned her said she didn't hunt nor knew anything about field trials. I believe the dog came from Seattle Setters kennels, they have some very good dogs. Anyway, this dog was young and small, 32 lbs, the runt of the litter. But the breeder said that she was the best of the bunch and was hesitant to sell her to someone who didn't hunt but no one wanted her.

The park was approx. 300 yards square and she covered it easy, running with flat out speed. She stopped for some beautiful stylish points, head high and straight 12 tail. She was only limited by the size of the field and am sure would have the made a great all-age dog. Man, all I saw was this streaking flash of white and black 200 yards away running from one side of the field to the other.

What a waste. If the breeder saw her, they would prolly want her back.

Mite- i know what you mean, its a shame.a few months ago i saw a lady w/ a really good looking setter. and she was saying how the parents were great hunters but she just wanted it as a pet. fact she said she doesnt even let it off the leash.lol i dont know how you have a dog that needs run and not let it but its a shame. i felt bad for the pup.

by the way hows your pup doing??? hope all is well and youll be ready for upcoming fall. for me im back to basics again..... lol he went back to being hard headed again and doesnt want to listen. but if all goes well we should be ready to rock by fall. good luck and nice hearin from you again

Yeah, I don't understand people. They should have known they were getting a hyper pet yet try to break them. At least this one was able to run. And boy could she run. I got tired just watching her for twenty minutes. There's another young couple with a goldie. What a laugh. Always on leash and they wipe her feet when the dog gets alittle dirty. They avoid me and my pup because my pup always finds the muddy water. They should let the dog be a dog. They probably wash the dog every day and groom it, oh so precious!

My pup is comming along well. I'm certainly using the collar less and less. She's hard headed also sometimes. Training has slowed down abit as she seems to show me that she'll listen. I've been doing simple training, 10 minutes about twice a week. I have to start on retrieving and breaking her. No real hurry. Hopefully, retrieving shouldn't take long since I can call her in when she has something in her mouth. Breaking is gonna take alittle more effort.

I wouldn't too much about your pup now. They can be extremely stubborn. 10 months now? Just enjoy their antics. By the time the season starts, I'm sure you'll have a great hunting dog.You already surpassed most hunting dog owners in training. You know them, they are the ones always yelling at their dogs :P.
