beagles in Alaska? (pics 2)
 

Thoght I woul troll around and see if anyone else in Alaska runs beagles. Sure would like to run with other people. maybe even start a club or something. Here is a pic of my dog and one of our hunts last year.

Thanks for the compliment rebelhog and thanks for the link mike. unfortunetly the nearest breeder to me is in washington.

I got my pup from a breeder in Arkansas. All the beagles for sale up here are just pet dogs. I honestly dont know why I dont see beagles running up here. I guess that it is just an undiscovered sport. We have lots of Hare and some pretty good spots to run them. Plus, there aint much else to hunt during the winter.

I ran into a moose hunter yesterday while I was running my dog. He quit hunting to come over and watch him run. He said he hadnt heard a beagle sing in over 30 years. Also some duck hunters came over and watched him run. I let them bag a rabbit to try it out. I exchanged numbers with one of the duck hunters and he sounded like he was hooked! Maybe I can talk him into a beagle hehe.

I think I've seen this pic of your dog before on a different site...maybe rabbithuntingonline, and I liked the looks of that hound. I thought about beagling when I got into squirrel dogs, but I don't have to right kind of places for it like I do squirrel hunting. Nice dog.

Thanks for the compliments again. Here is a better pic of him. Hes a little hard to get to hold still sometimes:eek: Hopefully soon Ill start taking pictures again this year. Running has been good to excellent so far this year.
