Default My New Catahoula Pups

I purchased two Catahoula pups about 3 weeks ago. They have turned out to be awesome dogs, so far. I bought em to make hog dogs out of, but I was wondering if anyone here hunted anything else with em, aside from coon and squirrel. I'd like to have em for a variety of hunting activities, especially big game, am I wishful thinkin?Any tips? Input?

Congrats, but let me warn you...big game dogs don't necessarily last that long.I'd see if those dogs will tree, and then stick to smaller game if I planned on getting really attached. I don't say that to be a party pooper, just to warn you that big game dogs can get killed quick if they aren't smart as a whip.

the ones i had lived to be around 10 years old before i retired them from big game and gave them to my cousin for coon dogs. they're pretty smart dogs that handle themselves pretty well on big game, not quite as good as my plotts but they're good.

In 1965 I ordered 2 Catahoula Leopard pup's from Arkansas and that was the
blood line for my hog dogs untill 2000. In 1968 I went toFranklin,NC and
bought two Plott Hounds from Mr.Plott, but when fully matured thier legs
were to long and made them to tall for hog hunting and to easy to get cut-up
from the belly. My crosses were Catahoula Leopard,Rhodesian Ridge Back
and Pit Bull. Some had two 2 blue eyes and some had one blue eye.
