Another puppy food question..
My new Lab is 9 weeks old, and is very active. I'll start working with him in about 2-3 weeks and was trying to find a good food to put some extra weight on him. Any suggestions?

RE: Another puppy food question..
Why more weight? Thin dogs have less stress on growing joints.

Notreally more weight just something to keephis weight on him when we start training. Especially since its summer and hothereinAlabama.I just dont want him losing any weight. I guess I need something with high protein????What about a couple eggs in the morning?

Get him/her on some Iams I did that with my pup and now she is a good sized dog with a good amount of energy still.

RE: Another puppy food question..
Put your dog on a premium "Large Breed" puppy food. Eukanuba, Diamond, Eagle Pack are some of the best brands.

Doc I've got him on premium puppy. What age do you recommend switching to premium dog? What about the eggs?

RE: Another puppy food question..
Make sure it's a LARGE BREED puppy food.
Most folks will change over to an Adult Performance food at 9 to 12 months. Some earlier -- a few later. COOKED eggs are a fine addition (Casey gets a couple fried eggs a week)...............Just NEVER give raw eggs. |
RE: Another puppy food question..
Cutter, find a food that is high in protien and medium on fat.
Always check to see how much you are paying perunit of protien. |
